Bedford Borough Bowling Club is a private members’ club,  which has been an active part of Bedford’s sporting activity for  one hundred years - 2011 being the Club’s Centenary Year.  The Club provides for outdoor and indoor bowling. The main  outdoor green is usually set out for six rinks, but can be made  into seven as the need arises. There are two further rinks  which were part of the original outdoor bowls setup, and are in use during the season. The indoor green has six rinks, and the  surface was boarded by Dales in  April 2010, complete with new underlay and carpet. (For  photos of the installation go to ‘News’ and click on  ‘Archive’).  Membership of the Club is open to the whole community.  Those with a visual impairment or physical disability are  welcome, and the Club hosts a Blind  Club section. We have a good car park adjacent  to the buildings, and the catering  provided by ‘Goodfare’ has an  excellent reputation. There is a well- stocked bar.  The Club participates in a variety of club, County and  National competitions, both outdoor and indoor, and  welcomes bowlers of all abilities.
