To start I was told by the skip of Shefford (RA) not to mention their match as they went down 27-7 to a revitalised Wilstead, so I won’t. Fairfield are also recovering from a poor start but in beating Bedford Park 18-12 they move up to 7th.  It was 8 all after 9 but from there, Fairfield only allowed Park to win two more ends. The other 2nd Div match saw Stewartby turn around a 2 shot deficiency at tea to soar to a 34-15 victory and consolidate 2nd place behind Queen’s. 2 fours and 2 fives  meant Langford had no chance to come back. The 1st Div saw Boro’ increase their top spot as Hammers  went down 15-13 to Ampthill. Both Ampthill and Hammers had debutante team members but Hammers  wanting 6 on the final end to draw, only managed 4. With 6  games to go there is still time to catch the Boro’. Bedford Priory looked to be making a comeback after being 14-1 down at tea by coming back to 14-6 after 9, but Boro’ managed to stop the flow and finished 21-11. Finally Sharnbrook skip’d by Andrew Manning took the lead at tea 8-3 then made sure Biggleswade never got back into the game, finally running out 19-10 winners.    I almost had to re draw the scrach card as I searched around for someone called ‘EROTICA’ finally establishing it was ‘ELASTIC’ and handed the £20 to Joe Stretch.
