Bedford Borough Bowling Club Dress Code

It is important to know and follow the club dress code, both for informal roll-up practices and also club matches, both friendlies and formal.

Casual Play - smart casual clothing can be worn
Exclusions are football shirts, shirts with logos or lettering, vests and jeans. Dark grey regulation bowling shorts are permitted again no denim, combat or cargo shorts are permitted

Ladies Dress Code

  • Club shirts shall be worn for all friendly matches or and competitions. This is because you are representing the club at such events.
  • Predominantly White regulation bowling shirts may be worn for club league matches.
  • Dark grey skirts, tailored trousers (full length or cropped), and club shirts.
  • Where stipulated, white skirts, tailored trousers (full length or cropped), and club shirts.
  • Navy club cardigans or waistcoats, which can be ordered by the Club.
  • Regulation bowling shoes are required to be worn on all indoor and outdoor greens at all times. Sandals can be worn at wearer's risk. Brown tights may be worn. Jeans are not permitted.
Casual Play - smart casual clothing can be worn. Exclusions are shirts with logos or lettering, jeans, tight leggings, flimsy tops or low tops. We wish to avoid embarrassment. Regulation or dark grey tailored bowling shorts are permitted again no denim,cargo or combat shorts are allowed.
Dress Code can only be relaxed for specific games, such as Saturday morning Inter-Club league, by the Bowling Officer.
Please note the correct bowling shoes are required to be worn on all greens.
